Assesses the extent and frequency of aggressive behavior when driving.
Careful and considerate driving behavior is essential for a safe flow of traffic. In traffic psychological investigations it is therefore particularly important to identify and modify aggressive and inappropriate behavior.

Using an eight-point answer scale, respondents indicate how often they exhibit a particular behavior when driving. Answers can be corrected once and items can be skipped.

S1: Standard form:

• Standard instructions: Presentation of the behavior patterns without special instructions.
• Stress instructions: Repeated presentation of the same behavior patterns with the request to imagine oneself in a stressful situation or recall such a situation.

S2: Short form: only standard instructions

The following main variables are scored:

• Overall score: Measure of aggressive driving behavior.
• Instrumental aggression: Rapid progress without consideration of others.
• Anger: Emotional reaction to specific driving situations.
• Enjoyment of violence: Affective aggression – harming others intentionally.
• Acting out: Inconsiderate and arrogant driving style.
• Negativism: Rejection of cooperative behaviors.

Social conformity provides a measure of the respondent’s credibility. In S1 a score for the difference under standard and stress instructions is also calculated.
