Application
The DRIVESC Fitness to Drive Screening test set measures, in a clinical context, the most important ability dimensions relevant to fitness to drive.
DRIVESC assesses the cognitive abilities of resilience, reaction ability and obtaining an overview. It provides an efficient means of screening people with neuropsychological and/or mental disorders for fitness to drive. It is simple to use and the instructions are easy to understand. Testing time has been kept as short as meaningfully possible, thus optimizing the relationship between length of testing and the usefulness of the results. Administration of the tests on a computer enables time-critical responses to be measured with a high level of precision. Standardized instructions, practice phases and error-free scoring underpin the assessment process. Nuanced measurement of performance enables necessary rehabilitation and intervention measures to be tailored to the individual’s needs.
Validation
The DRIVESC test set was validated in a multicentric study involving a large sample of healthy individuals, stroke patients and patients with traumatic brain injuries. A correlation was found between ability variables in the tests and the results of standardized driving tests. The DRIVESC test set has proved itself as a valid tool for predicting respondents’ fitness to drive.
Scoring
- Table with raw scores, percentile ranks and confidence intervals.
- Profile
- Written report with profile and verbal description of the individual results.
